The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially announced the Class 12 board exam timetable for the academic year 2025–26. According to the released schedule, the board exams will begin on 15 February 2025 and continue until 4 April 2025. The exams will be conducted from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
Students can now download the complete Class 12 date sheet from the official CBSE website at cbse.gov.in. The board has taken special care to ensure that there is enough gap between major subjects so that students can revise and prepare without stress. The dates of entrance examinations such as CUET, NEET, and JEE have also been considered while planning this schedule. The goal is to complete the board exams early so that students get sufficient time for their competitive exams.
This is the first time that CBSE has released the date sheet 86 days in advance. With this early announcement, students now have a great opportunity to plan their preparation in a better and more relaxed way. It will help reduce exam pressure and allow students to perform with more confidence. Parents and teachers can also plan their schedules accordingly. Schools can organise summer activities, teacher duties, and non-board class studies without disruption.CBSE has also announced the practical exam schedule. For regular schools, the Class 12 practical exams will begin from 1 January 2025. For winter-bound schools, the practical exams will be conducted earlier, between 5 November and 5 December 2024.
Students must also follow some important instructions for the examination. All candidates are expected to follow CBSE guidelines strictly. Communication devices such as mobile phones are not allowed inside the exam centre, and strict action will be taken if found. Students must maintain discipline at all times. The duration of each exam will be mentioned clearly in the date sheet and the admit card. Additionally, 15 minutes of reading time will be provided before the start of each exam.
Parents are advised to regularly visit the CBSE website and stay in touch with their child's school for updates. This will help them guide their children during the examination period.
